Mari's Books opened in 2006 and sold "previously enjoyed and gently used books." They also sold books by local authors, and new copies of New York Times bestsellers.
The "three ladies," co-owners of the store, Mari Irvin, Mary Wiltse, and Jeannine Jansons, retired from Mari's Books in February 2020.
As of March 2020, Mary Crook and Yvonne Erickson, who also owns Just Local next door, are the new owners. They renamed the store Books and More...something old, something new, something local.
The store was once a cottage that was part of a Tourist Court in the 1930s.
